Profile: Chef Jerry Edwards of Chef’s Expressions

Jerry Edwards
As a full service caterer in Baltimore Maryland, D.C & Virginia specializing in catering weddings, corporate events, bar/bat mitzvahs, holidays and more, Chef’s Expressions strives to exceed expectations with award-winning chefs, innovative bartenders, attentive servers and out-of-the-box event designers. President and Corporate Chef
Jerry Edwards has traveled the world, training and assisting caterers, chefs and event planners to animate their guest’s culinary experience; He has also served as the President of NACE, the National Association of Catering & Events.

But there’s more here than just amazingly delicious food. A strong advocate for charitable efforts, Jerry also champions many philanthropic children’s issues, social causes and adult diseases, serving as the current spokesperson for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland. We are extremely lucky he also finds time to serve as the Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for TasteWise Kids!
Jerry has been a Days of Taste Chef since the program’s early days in the Baltimore region, teaching countless students in Baltimore City and Baltimore and Howard Counties. Much beloved by volunteers, teachers and kids alike, it is rare that Jerry goes to a school and we don’t hear how much everyone loved participating in the Days of Taste program with him.
He has also been an invaluable resource for information and advice on every topic related to our work from Day 1 – from finding farm partners, recruiting volunteers and fellow chefs, and buying and maintaining the necessary equipment for our programming.
Jerry has clearly also created a culture of philanthropy within his staff, who also help run the Days of Taste program in countless ways – from ordering supplies (thank you Katie Bittinger!) to stocking and maintaining all Days of Taste program supplies (Luis Banegas is unbelievable!). Staff also washes the dishes associated with the salad making on Day 3 after the program completes at a school…It’s not a glamorous job, but it is completely necessary for our program to run, and we simply couldn’t do it without this support.
The generosity of time and resources doesn’t end there! Chef’s Expressions was instrumental in launching our signature annual fundraiser, Farm to Chef Maryland , and staff members still serve on the planning committee today (thank you Anna McCoy!).
As if all that wasn’t enough, we are excited to be the featured nonprofit at Chef’s Expressions February Wine Dinner, taking place on Valentine’s Day. This very special evening will include multiple delectable courses, each paired with wine hand-picked by Jerry himself. If you haven’t been to one of these evenings, it’s a night you will not forget. Limited tickets are available so get them while they last .
