Kid Friendly Recipe: Wendy’s Fancy Carrots

As it’s the time of year for holiday cheer, friends and sharing – which often happens over good food – I wanted to share a favorite holiday recipe of mine. It’s as easy as it can get, yet it is also one that people always love. My kids call these “fancy carrots!”

Adapted from
Make It Fast, Cook it Slow by Stephanie O’Dea , my household loves recipes that pack a big flavor punch and come together quickly. I enjoy set this up early in the day, and am always pleasantly surprised by the smell when I come home later, having forgotten the treat that awaits since this is so easy to make!
We use fresh carrots cut into pieces, but baby carrots can be used to make this recipe even quicker. I often add more spices, and double the recipe so that we (hopefully) have leftovers!
Kid tip: let children dump ingredients into the slow cooker before it’s even on to join in the fun!
