#TWKatHome Family Fridays

Show off your kitchen skills and knowledge!

Our #TWKFamilyFridays series is where we hope to provide you with resources to both learn a little more about the world of food and its sources, and connect with one another in the process.

We are hoping that you and your family have been experimenting in the kitchen, having fun with our #TWKatHome activities, and/or tried a few new foods over these past few weeks. Maybe you have learned a new kitchen skill as well. We wanted to give you an easy way to record and see all that you are learning.

We have created this Kitchen Skills and Knowledge Sheet.

It is very simple to use:

  1. Print out the worksheet or make your own version with a few markers (feel free to make it pretty with drawings or doodles).
  2. Hang it somewhere in your kitchen area.
  3. Add to it as you continue to explore food and try new things.
  4. Don’t stop at just one – if you complete this one, feel free to start another one!

A few ways to get creative with this:

  • If you have young kids at home, have them draw a picture of new foods and an adult or older kid can label it.
  • Decide if you want to do one sheet for the whole family or each of you complete your own and then compare who has learned what.
  • Try to build in a new skill or add a new food on your or your kid’s night to cook (if you haven’t started sharing responsibilities of making meals with your kids, check out our TWKFamily Friday tip on how to start).

We want to know what you have tried! Please share your progress with us by tagging us on Facebook @TasteWiseKids, Instagram @TasteWise_Kids or send them to us directly via info@tastewisekids.org. On social media, be sure to use our hashtag #TWKatHome!

Our TasteWise Kids team – and their families – are working on their own sheets and we will be posting them in the next few weeks. We hope to see what you have done too!
